Avoriaz Snowboard Guide

Avoriaz is seen by many as the snowboard capital of Europe.

The terrain on offer is more than amazing and will suit every level and style of rider: trees, big cliff drops, powder bowls and easy, wide flats – it´s all here.

The Lindarets bowl is accessible for snowboarders of any level and offers fun, off piste runs through the trees. Seasonnaires have long since crowned the Prolays and Star Wars runs as the best there is; and as witnessed by the numbers lined up for the side hits.

The management are very positive in promoting snowboarding thus there is an abundance of good snowparks; 3 snowparks in Avoriaz alone and in addition to this there is the Burton Stash and a half-pipe right in the centre of town.

Avoriaz is accessible directly from Morzine town (either via the Prodains Express or riding over via Super Morzine) and is centrally located in the Portes du Soleil region, one of the largest international skiing regions in the world.

The resort and has long since been recognised as an crucial hub to the history and development of snowboarding in Europe. Check out the pioneering story of the evolution of France’s first snowpark.

MINT Snowboarding is the only Avoriaz snowboard school. MINT offers private lessons, freestyle coaching and backcountry & splitboard guiding in Avoriaz. The ski school meeting point is at the bottom of the Prodain chairlift, although we can also meet on the Plateau (near the Yeti Bar) for private lessons. Lessons are with qualified British snowboard instructors or fluent English speaking instructors.
