Private snowboard lessons are the most flexible way to learn, giving you the freedom to focus on whatever matters most to you. Whether you’re learning to snowboard for the first time, refining your technique, exploring off-piste or developing your freestyle riding, every lesson is shaped around your goals, your pace and the way you want to learn.

MINT Snowboarding offers private snowboard lessons across Morzine, Avoriaz, Les Gets and Châtel for snowboarders of all ages and abilities. From a single two-hour session to a full week of coaching, our fully qualified snowboard instructors will help you get more from your time on the mountain, with personalised coaching that adapts to your riding, the conditions and your ambitions.

MINT SNOWBOARDING- Superb -every year!!

We are both good intermediates but we both learned a HUGE amount.

Returning to a snowboard school a year after you had the best instructor experience of 40 years trying is always going to be a big ask. I requested the same instructor, Iban, As he was outstanding in 2022. He taught me and my 26 yo daughter. And for the second year running he used the whole 3 hours packing in a huge amount of information at a sensible pace. We are both good intermediates but we both learned a HUGE amount. I cannot recommend Iban more highly - a really nice guy with huge experience who is passionate about snowboarding and instructing. Gary , who is the office link was also super efficient and super friendly and it was no problem to change the lesson due to bad weather. If you want a REALLY enjoyable and informative I’ve half day in Morzine or Avoriaz I challenge you to find anyone better

I've been snowboarding for 15 years but not taken lessons since I was a beginner. My wife booked me a couple of private lessons whilst we were in Morzine as a surprise and I was shocked at how much my riding improved. Didn't realise how many bad habits I'd picked up over the years. Great instructor who really looked at how I could improve and gave me tons of pointers to work on. Will definitely be booking more snowboard lessons with these guys on our annual trip to Morzine.

Best instructor ever!

I opted for private lessons and MINT as a school were flexible and easy to deal with. It was great value, I recommend, MINT, Valerio and above all private lessons!

I hadn't been on a board for 6 years and day one felt pretty much like i was back to being a beginner. My instructor Valerio Antoniello however put a stop to that and by the end of the first day I was back doing turns and days three and four it was like the six years in between had never existed! Valerio was an excellent teacher. I really felt he genuinely wanted to help me improve. He was patient and helped me with not only the technique but building my confidence and above all made the lessons fun! I opted for private lessons and MINT as a school were flexible and easy to deal with. It was great value, I recommend, MINT, Valerio and above all private lessons!

  • Can MINT instructors use the ski school lift lines?

    Yes as an official Morzine school, our instructors are able to use the lift lines dedicated to ski schools. This means that during your lessons with MINT you can get priority access in the lift queues when it is busy.

  • Do I need to wear protective gear?

    Having a few falls is part of learning to snowboard. Having instruction will minimise this dramatically, however we still recommend the use of helmets and wrist guards, especially for beginners, kids and those learning freestyle. Bruises and injuries seriously affect your confidence… and confidence is key to learning to snowboard!

  • Where is the meeting point?

    Our standard meeting points are as follows:

    Avoriaz – top of the Prodains télécabine (3S)

    Morzine – top of the Pleney télécabine. At the top of the télécabine turn right, walk past the terrace and you will see the MINT meeting sign.

    Les Gets – bottom / top of the Chavannes télécabine (check your booking confirmation)

    Chatel – bottom of the Pierre Longue chairlift

  • What languages do you offer private lessons in?

    All of our instructors are British or fluent English speakers. We teach lessons in English, French, Italian and Spanish.

  • What is the benefit of having a private lesson?

    There are so many benefits of taking private snowboard lessons. Firstly, private lessons will allow you to progress at your own pace which you can dictate. If you have specific the areas of your snowboarding which you are wanting to progress, then a lesson on your own with a professional instructor will allow you to target these goals. Compared to group lessons, you are able to have more 1-on-1 time with your instructor and the lesson is tailored more closely to your skills. Private lessons are also the ultimate way to build confidence on the slopes, ideal for anyone needing a confidence boost.

  • Should I carry a backpack?

    We don’t recommend you snowboard with a backpack. Whether you are a beginner or more advanced rider wanting to progress, a backpack can put you off balance, restrict your movement and make you more tense when snowboarding. We recommend you leave your backpack at home and put any water or snacks in your pocket.

  • Is a ski pass included in my lessons?

    We do not include a lift pass in the price of our private or group lessons. You will need to purchase a lift pass prior to arriving for your lessons.
