Anna was another skier who was savagely forced by her family to start skiing at 3 years old, after seeing her cousin snowboarding and having too much fun she finally managed to convince her parents that snowboarding was her passion and at the age of 6 she first stood sideways to slide on snow. Her local mountain range is the Pyrenees where she spent many years improving her boarding and finally studying to become a snowboard instructor. Never afraid of the cold Anna hasn’t had a summer for 13 years having moved north and south of the equator to follow the endless winter.
Anna loves Freeride snowboarding but her passion is the mountain and striding out into the wilderness on her Splitboard to ride fresh and untouched powder. Anna has just returned from a season in Argentina so has pretty much just stepped off the snow in South America, her all-time favourite place to snowboard is the Andes in Patagonia.
Simply THE BEST snowboard school out there! This was my fourth incredible trip to Morzine with the MINT gang. Top class tuition delivered in a really fun way. The energy and passion of the whole MINT team is infectious and I can’t believe how much I’ve progressed. If you’re a solo traveler then don’t miss the progression camps – I had so much fun and made some great shredding buddies.
Having used MINT before for my family and everyone raving about them I decided to try for myself with the Freestyle Camp. I was a little anxious having never gone on my own before but I’m so glad I did.
I had two wishes, land a 360 off a blue kicker and go off a red kicker and managed both by the end of the week thanks to Gerard’s amazing tuition. Great instructor and all round nice guy.
I also met a bunch of great people it was an absolute pleasure to shred with for the week. I will be booking with MINT again in the future for sure.
So much fun! My 12 year old twins had a blast snowboarding with Gerard. They are good snowboarders that wanted to learn more tricks and improve their skills. Gerard is and excellent instructor. I can truly recommend MINT Snowboarding. Their atmosphere is light and fun but with quality teaching.
My little boy had lessons with MINT in Avoriaz. WOW….. absolutely brilliant, Gerard had the patience of a saint and was super enthusiastic with Eddie. His professionalism and encouragement was just mind blowing and it reflected in my little boy being excited each morning to join him!
Even writing this review doesn’t seem to do MINT or Gerard any justice!!!
We will be back next season!
Having snowboarded for many years, I felt I was in a rut in my riding skills and booked a private lesson with MINT. Our instructor ran through our riding, correcting some habits and then we moved onto learning new things. Euro carves, hitting bigger side hits, flatland tricks and pushing our riding more than we’d do on our own. Simone was informative, passionate and was generally stoked to be passing on his knowledge. What a great lesson, worth every penny.
You may feel that you no longer need lessons, but riding with a MINT instructor is liking riding with a friend that rides everyday, passing on their tips and skill and generally happy to teach as much as they can. I will come back to slash the mountain again with MINT.
I highly recommend MINT Snowboarding. I had two three-hour private lessons with them during a short holiday to Morzine. I had done a few lessons at an indoor slope in the UK, but was still a complete novice. My instructor Ivan was friendly, patient, knowledgeable and soon had me progressing onto blue runs. I progressed so much more than I thought I would, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thanks Ivan for the boss lessons!
Mum, Dad and three boys (14, 12, 8) brand new to boarding had private family lessons. Instructor Simone was excellent and the boys were whizzing along and doing 360s after two days. The organisation of the company was very good and communication both when in UK and in resort was great. Simone really made it for the boys and they progressed amazingly under his tuition.
Fantastic beginner snowboarding lessons. My lessons made my trip! I was a beginner visiting Avoriaz and wasn’t feeling confident. Tony took time to listen to what I wanted and adapt his focus on how I would learn best, often trying different approaches to eventually get me to produce the desired result. After my lessons I can now get down the slope confidentially, link my turns and importantly as he taught me, have fun! Fantastic experience and I’ll be booking a refresher lesson when I next visit!
