MINT Partners with Snow Camp Charity

Whether living in the mountains, doing a winter season or just visiting resort for a weeks ski or snowboard holiday, we are all pretty lucky to have the opportunity to enjoy snow sports. Unfortunately not everyone is so lucky.

This summer we decided we wanted to give a part of our profits to charity, but we wanted our contribution to go to a charity which made a positive change to people’s lives and which was linked to the ski & snowboard industry. That’s where Snow Camp comes in. This amazing charity uses snow sports as a tool to engage and motivate young inner city people aged from 13 – 21 years. These young people are typically not in education, employment or training and it is the aim of snow camp to teach young people the skills they need to raise their aspirations and gain employment. It’s more than just a chance for young people to pick up a new hobby – further down the line Snow-Camp provides support and training to help them forge careers in the snow sports world.

Our friend Jenny Jones is a Snow-Camp patron and has this to say about them “I love the way Snow-Camp uses my sport to support young people who wouldn’t ever get the chance to get involved in snowsports – and beyond that, to enable them to get qualifications and access to employment in the snowsports industry”.

With our charitable contribution this year, 3 young people will be able to attend a Snow Camp 2-day beginner ‘First Tracks’ program this summer.

If like us, you think the work that Snow Camp do with young people is awesome and you would like to help them to support even more young people, then why not head along to their site and make a donation or get involved in one of the many events and fundraisers they run throughout the year. A new generation of skiers and snowboarders is sure to thank you for it!
